Tonight we will be part of a major Toronto record release party at C’est What? (67 Front St. E). That of course is in Toronto on Saturday, April 21st to celebrate the release of “Two Hearts” – a new EP by Charlie McKittrick and Jamie Reaume – two Toronto-based musicians that have teamed up to release original music, for the first time, together.
We got an early preview a while back with the excellent Army Of Your Soul single from McKittrick which we wrote about here. McKittrick takes on a different sound from what we are used to from him (as the drummer of the best hard rock band from Toronto in the last 20 years – TimeGiant). We expect the EP to feature more great music and complement what we wrote about Army Of Your Soul – “the song succeeds in delivering a euphoric emotion and is a perfect showcase of the talent McKittrick has as an entertainer.”
“Two Hearts” features 4 songs from each artist and is an acoustic based, journey through stories of love, longing and reflection. Both artists draw inspiration from the extensive experience each has attained from travelling the world to perform the music that drives them. Notes of honesty, humility, humour and the vagabound spirit of classic songwriting permeate the recordings and pull the listener deep into the experience.
The EP release party will feature a seven song live set by each respective artist – as well as a hand-picked playlist by Charlie and Jamie in between acts.
Copies of the “Two Hearts” EP will be selling for $10 night of – if you contribute $10 at the door, you will receive a copy of the EP. Doors open at 9 pm and admission is pay what you can.
