January 27 2015 – SAGA kick off their Sagacity Tour 2015 in their home town (well close enough) of Toronto on Saturday February 7th at the Phoenix Concert Theater (tickets available here). Hands down one of the best Canadian rock bands ever the guys are still delivering relevant and complex music that was their trademark since the late 70’s. Last year SAGA released their 21st album and now they take the show on the road.
As if the headliner is not enough there are two other bands on the night which we endorse very highly. Suns of Stone deliver a bluesy hard rock that will surely get you warmed up nicely. You can read our review of Suns of Stone here. Next up will be the phenomenal hard prog rock of David Barrett Trio whom have a song with Michael Sadler of Saga on vocals as well as having Alex Lifeson of Rush produce their debut album. You can read our interview with David Barrett here.
We have covered David Barrett Trio and SAGA multiple times (read review here) are very happy to announce they have provided our readers with a killer prize pack consisting of:
- 4 tickets to the Saga show in Toronto on February 7
- 1 SAGA T-shirt (size of your choice)
- 1 very rare AUTOGRAPHED promo EP of Sagacity (this is not available for purchase anywhere and a T-Mak World exclusive)
- David Barrett Trio II autographed studio CD
- A Whisper To Thunder – David Barrett Trio Live in Concert (DVD) autographed by full band
To enter the contest you must simply send an email to contests (at) tmakworld (dot) com with SAGACITY ROCKS on the subject line and include your name in the email body or click here Enter Contest. One winner will be selected and will collect their prize pack at the door on February 7th.
In other words you must be at the show to get your prize pack, T-Mak World or Saga will not be sending out the prize. If you cannot attend the show we will select another winner. Winner has 24 hours to claim prize upon notification.
Bonus entry to anyone who likes T-Mak World on Facebook!
The night will surely feature the band’s 1-2 punch of Wind Him Up and On The Loose which are both staples on Canadian rock radio to this day. Both of those songs were from the incredible World’s Apart album from 1981 which places firmly on my personal top 10 albums of all time. The rest of the setlist is a mystery and one many global fans of the band will be very anxious to find out about (of course we will be there reviewing the show). Let history be made on February 7th and get ready for the SAGA tour 2015.
To get you in the mood you can check out our interviews with keyboardist Jim Gilmour here and drummer Mike Thorne here.
