March 5, 2014: On Friday February 21st, 2014, T-Mak World performed a live exclusive interview with Ziggy Drumz at the Rockpile. The live interview will be published soon, but in keeping with this theme…
Question 1: Where in the world could someone go to see a live performance of Guns N’ Roses and Mӧtley Crüe music, with a sprinkling of Black Sabbath, in one night?
The answer: Ziggy Drumz’ Birthday bash at the Rockpile West. If you were there, you know how exciting and fun the party was! If you weren’t, well the next best thing is this review of the show.
Question 2: Who is Dust N’ Bones?
The answer: A tremendous Guns N’ Roses tribute band, featuring Ziggy Drumz and Bryndyn Boonstra, who got the show started with the energy one would expect from a Guns N’ Roses set list. This performance alone would have been worth the price of admission. Dust N’ Bones whipped the audience up into a frenzy with their power and sex appeal. The guys in the audience were playing their air guitars with authority while the girls danced around with reckless abandon.
Before you knew it, the audience at the Rockpile was out of control and screaming for more and more, and they got it with this magnificent performance, topped off with a brilliant rendition of Sweet Child O’ Mine.
Question 3: Didn’t Dust N’ Bones do an encore?
The answer: Well sort of, as the audience was clamoring for more, Ziggy Drumz kept the festivities going by answering a few light-hearted questions from us here at T-Mak World. This gave the guys and gals in the audience just enough time to refresh their drinks before Blizzard of Ozz hit the stage.
Question 4: If I could listen to only 4 Black Sabbath Songs, what would they be?
The answer: Over the Mountain, Sweetleaf, The Wizard, and Children of the Grave.
The guys and gal of Blizzard of Ozz were accompanied by Drumz as they played these songs. It was simply a great way to move from one set of classic rock music to another. Sort of reminded me of when I would place the needle down on one LP and then move to the next. Drumz performed as if he has played these tunes all of his professional career. One would never have guessed that he only practiced them for a week before the performance. Blizzard of Ozz was spot on with their renditions of these songs and the only disappointment was that we could not hear even more Sabbath. But this disappointment was short-lived, as CRÜED soon hit the stage with their opening number Looks that Kill.
Question 5: What’s next?
Answer: CRÜED!! The premier…number 1 Mӧtley Crüe tribute band in the world! The debauchery began with Looks that Kill and escalated from there. The beauty of CRÜED consists of Robbie’s screaming guitars, Karl’s thumping bass, Ziggy’s staccato drum hits, and Boone’s pure rock n’ roll whine. These guys are able to re-create Mӧtley Crüe’s masterful riffs and brilliant lyrics.
Question 6: Are these tribute bands really worth my time?
People, you have got to get yourself out there to see these performers. In a world of fabricated music and imitation artists like Justin Bieber, these musicians, yes MUSICIANS, put on performances that are second to none! These guys are accomplished guitarists, vocalists, bassists, and drummers. Yes, you may still be able to see Axl Rose perform with his own tribute band, but he would be no better than Dust N’ Bones, and for Mӧtley Crüe fans, if you don’t go see CRÜED, then you are losing out on so much.
