Steam Whistle is an active supporter of independent Canadian musicians and the craft brewery’s UNSIGNED concert series is now in its sixth year running. On November 29th, Steam Whistle will host Unsigned #27, celebrating Canadian indie music. The show will be hosted in the Toronto Brewery’s Beer Hall and will feature Rituals, The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores and Fresh Snow. Doors open at 8pm and admission is only $5 at the door with all proceeds from ticket sales going back to the community through the Artists Health Alliance.

Rituals
Rituals is the Toronto based incarnation of art school graduate Adam Christopher Seward. After spending the summer of 2009 writing and recording in his bedroom, Adam decided to pass them around to friends. Shortly after, The hazy, cinematic post-punk songs reminiscent of the 80s post punk and no wave as well as 90s shoegaze psychedelia, became a live band. Currently they are crafting their much anticipated followup EP expecting to release in early 2013 on Mike Haliechuk (Fucked up) and Carey Kurtins’ (Belham Music Management/Dine Alone) partnership label One Big Silence, The label considered home for Diamond Rings debut EP, Austra’s debut EP, Trust and Moon King.

The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores
Toronto punk quartet The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores are a guaranteed booty shaking, fist pumping, machine built to make you sweat on the dance floor. Being named by North By Northeast as a top band, and recently placed as a finalist in Indie Week, they have been playing shows at the Edge 102.1 and Canadian Music Week, The OBGMs have shared the stage with artists such as Saul Williams, Janelle Monae and Kathryn Calder of The New Pornographers. Fresh Snow
Fresh Snow is not music. Music died so that Fresh Snow could live. As music ascended toward the light, Fresh Snow fell down to earth. They passed each other in a corridor of indescribable beauty. They were given a message and strict instructions on how to deliver it to you. They had no pen or paper with which to write it down. Luckily it was simple: “I love you. Don’t be afraid. All is forgiven.” Fresh Snow have recently released their debut album, I on Reel Cod Records to critical acclaim.

About Steam Whistle UNSIGNED:
Steam Whistle UNSIGNED is an ongoing concert series that showcases Canada’s indie music talent, while also developing its future. Hosted in Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver each edition of UNSIGNED features three Canadian artists with all of the ticket sales going back to the arts community through Artists’ Health Alliance. UNSIGNED has to date featured over 70 independent Canadian acts and have raised over $70,000 for local artists. To bring these events together, Steam Whistle teams up with Pandor Productions, Now Magazine, and Gibson Guitars.
