Phil Naro |
February 25 2012 – In the last couple of days we were notified of two kick ass videos and one wicked song that we think our faithful readers will enjoy. The three selections are very varied and range from a collection of rock veterans, one of Canada’s hottest bands, and a group of musicians that aren’t even in a band together. Check it out:
Unnamed Band – The Girl I Love Got Long Black Wavey Hair
Our good friend Charlie McKittrick who drums with TimeGiant (our favorite Indie classic hard rock band reviewed here) sent this over to me on Facebook today. McKittrick knows exactly what kind of music we like at T-Mak World and instinctively knew this Zeppelin inspired tune would be totally up our alley. I have heard this song a dozen times already today and want more from these four musicians. Apparently they aren’t in a band together but were screwing around in a studio and came up with this gem. The only info I have about this is that it is called a “Led Zeppelin Tribute Jam at Epik Productions Recording Studio.Feat. Rainey Smith (Vox), Ben Spiller (Bass), Charlie McKittrick (Drums) and Ross Hayes Citrullo (Guitar).” Check it out and get ready to go right into the early 70’s Zeppelin period.
What you think dear readers? Any favorite of the three or do they all rock?

Can see why Phil Naro sings as Plant, he sounds just like him. Song is ok.
One Bad Son is a great new band. Would like to hear more from them.
Rainy Smith is one mean singer. Brings back memories of Babe Ruth from the seventies.
Jenny Haan sounded just like her. Maybe too far back for you Terry but look them up on YouTube. After I played this song as I type this am listening to Black Dog with the great guitar player Alan Shacklock and Jenny wailing.

All three definitely rock and I could easily listen to them many times, but if I had to pick a favorite it would likely be the unnamed band. Some wailing vocals and definite Page'ian guitar work.. Thanks for sharing..your taste in music is impeccable
