Jan 8 2013 – Last year we started our PC Game of the Year poll in which the gamers vote for what the best game was in 2011 (just for PC – cause that’s where real gaming happens!) The top three places were as follows:
3 – Portal 2 (14% of the vote)
2 – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (26% of the vote)
1 – Battlefield 3 (33% of the vote)
Although 1st and 2nd place were somewhat close it really seemed that 2011 was dominated by three games that got almost 75% of all the votes. Let’s see how the story looked in 2012.
Some observations: The top 10 were selected by a pre-poll of write in nominations from gamers. Whereas last year the top 3 games got roughly 75% of the votes, this year it took 5 games to get to that roughly 75% number. Almost all games on the top 10 were sequels (except for Dishonored and Sleeping Dogs). Although the first place and second place games were very clear, the third place spot was a virtual tie between 3 different games. My vote went to Max Payne 3. 675 votes were submitted and here are the results!
10 – Darksiders 2 (2% of the votes)
9 – Hitman Absolution (3% of the votes)
8 – Sleeping Dogs (5% of the votes)
7 – Diablo 3 (6% of the votes)
6 – Max Payne 3 (7% of the votes)
5 – Mass Effect 3 (11% of the votes)
4 – XCOM Enemy Unknown (11% of the votes)
3 – Dishonored (11% of the votes)
2 – Borderlands 2 (16% of the votes)
1 – Far Cry 3 (29% of the votes)
VERDICT: Real gamers have spoken – Far Cry 3 is the PC Game of 2012! Bottom line is that if you are a gamer any one of the top 10 will give you a great time, so go ahead and game. Bring on 2013.
I have 6 of the 10 (9,8,6,4,2 and 1)and Far cry 3 is keeping me busy(thanx to Terry for the FC3 Key) also the DLC in Battlefield 3 keeps me going back to it, shame not to see it in the list
There were other games to play? I haven't bought or touched another game since BF3 came out!
I have played dishonoured a 1000times and yet i didnot get bored of it however i think medal of honour should be on the list
