September 10 2011 – With 6.5 milllion “Likes” on their official Led Zeppelin Facebook page one would think the band would hire a marketing company to provide updates and engage the fans (and perhaps get them to spend some money). That is not the case for Led Zeppelin whose Facebook page did not have an update for over 5 months. Their last update in fact was on March 21 2012 where they said “Led Zeppelin just added new collectible lithos and screen prints to the online store (each print is limited to 500). Check out these limited edition collectible items plus other great tees, accessories and more.”
Until last Friday September 7th in which the page broadcast a one word message as can be seen below.

It does not take a marketing degree to figure out that on Thursday September 13th, Led Zeppelin will make an announcement. Although the rabid fans on the Internet are speculating anything from a reunion tour to a new album, we believe there is less chance of that happening than of Elvis being alive. Led Zeppelin in any shape or form is no longer viable strictly because of Robert Plant and his clear understanding of the reality that he is no longer the Golden God. Although music critics are drooling over his hillbilly music, it is as far removed from Led Zeppelin as can be.
Our money is that on Thursday September 13th Led Zeppelin will announce the release of the O2 one off reunion show that they threw in 2007. The only question is will it be a CD, a DVD, a Blu-Ray, or all 3. This offering will of course sell millions of copies and will close off the epic story of the world’s greatest rock and roll band past present and future. Just remember though, as Beethoven’s music is alive and well 200 years later, in 2212 Led Zeppelin’s music will likewise be alive and at least now we can all watch their swan song performance (well at least 3/4 of Led Zeppelin and 1/4 offspring) with high production value.
