Feb 14 2012 – Random post alert! I just had a tree removed from my house since it was unhealthy and structurally unsound. The process took 5 hours but I was able to time lapsed it down to 4 minutes. It is very interesting to see how the process is done. Have a look.
After that was done I had a big limb removed from the back of the house, and this time it was cut down manually. This video is 1 hour time lapsed into 1 minute.

What was that machine they used in the end to take out the roots?

I had this done about 5 years ago to a similar tree.
The machine at the end was a “Stump Grinder”, it takes the final stump and grinds it down and into the ground…to kill the tree and chop up the roots where they connect to the stump.
BTW, The Skid Steer Loader was a Bobcat, I worked at the Bobcat dealer as a Bobcat mechanic from 2004 to 2006. Trivia, the Bobcat has a stump grinder attachment that runs off of hydraulic power and would go much deeper than that machine.
and finally, you will probably see the tree trying to make tiny comebacks around the house, those roots are resilient but just pull the new growths out and eventually they will DIE!

Wicked stuff. The removal doesn't come cheap. I had it done a few years back and know from experience! Downside of living in the city I guess. Otherwise I would hack it down myself.

Tree removal is expensive as far as i know. How did they remove the
roots? Did they use some special equipment for that? That's an old huge
tree.
