February 13 2010 – It all began with the post below. Unsure of what direction this would all take here is how T-Mak World was born. (This paragraph is an update from Aug 2013.)
First it was forums on multiple technology sites forums (starting around 2001), then came MySpace (which I do not participate on any longer), then Facebook (just for friends – no work talk there is my rule), then LinkedIn (to keep my business contacts centralized), then Twitter (as www.twitter.com/catalystmaker), and a couple of months ago a YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/catalystmaker) just to upload some of my concert experiences, which brings us to this – my first blog. I debated whether I should start one (and clearly we can see which part of my inner debate won that one), and also debated whether I should keep it related to my work at all or not (that debate was won by the “No” faction – I am not officially Catalyst Maker of ATI or AMD here, I am just me).
So lets see what comes of this – will it die off like many bad experiments or will it drive me to share my passions (music, movies, gaming) and explore yet another faction of the web. Time will tell.
If you have found your way here, please drop a note and let me know the answer to the question …. “Is there anybody out there?”

Hello, is a good start, I follow you on twitter just to know some news, I'm not a gamer, I'm a vfx artist looking for my next graphic card, I have a firegl v5000, Is old for what im doing, And Im deciding the AMD or Nvidia.. the old debate. Good luck with your blog and if you have an advice about the card let me know, cheers.

Thanks Dr.C, sounds like a cool job you have! How can I say anything other than go with the AMD choice ;-) Seriously though the workstation area is not my expertise. I work in the Product Management side for the consumer cards (Radeon) so unfortunately I dont have any wisdom to share for you.

I'm inside, though out there.. not sure if it's a good idea to be out anyway with these low temperatures.
Surely, this blog gives you more freedom than a corporate one so I'm sure to follow this one.. it always surprises me to see how people I admire (on the net) tend to have a lot of human tendencies like watching sports and going to concerts.
cheers,
neliz

Started a blog? Pretty cool. I always read your twitter posts, especially with regards to catalyst drivers…gotta keep the 5970 up to date =p. Have fun with the blog!

Neliz – of course we all have interests other than work ;-) That would be pretty lame to only have work to focus on.
Simon – Gotta love the Roger videos huh! Yes I do have some other ones from the concerts I went to and will put them up soon
Cessna – Keeping up to date is always highly recommended – best way to improve your purchase for free!

My earliest memories were playing a 3d maze game on the Tandy TRS80 and I've been bitten by the bug ever since. Definitely keep the blog personal as theres plenty of other work related websites and it makes blogs more interesting.
