May 17 2015 – TimeGiant has been very busy in 2015. They recently advanced to the semi-finals of 97.7 HTZ-FM’s Rocksearch for the third straight year, played some gigs in Europe with Stone River, where bassist Pat Wilken filled in as their touring bassist, and are playing the Music Matters festival in Singapore from May 20-24. T-Mak World caught their show at Lee’s Palace on Friday, a warm up show for the festival.
The energy from the band right from the start was the best we’ve seen and only topped by the energy of the crowd. They fed off each other with a selection of past favourites such as I Am The Fire, The Real Thing and a great cover of ELO’s Don’t Bring Me Down. However their new great new songs such as Waiting For The Sun, Close My Eyes and I Need Your Love co-written with John-Angus MacDonald of the Trews were the highlights of the night.
Of course a TimeGiant show would not be complete without a drum solo from Charlie McKittrick and the beast behind the kit did not disappoint – he delivered a solo that would make the master Neil Peart proud.
As the saying goes “it ain’t a rock’n’roll show until________”; in this case until the appearance of a double neck guitar. Frontman Tyronne Buccione brought out the double neck for the second half of the show. Yeah!!
T-Mak World has been following the band since our paths first crossed paths many years ago at CMW and this was the most energetic, clean and tight show we’ve seen the band play. It’s great to see the maturation to a power trio ready to take it to the world. Well done guys, and based on the quality of this performance, the other semi-finalists in Rocksearch will have some very stiff competition.
T-MAK World wishes the guys the best of luck in Singapore. Gents, keep spreading Rock and Roll and Party on!!
