The prize includes two tickets to the event, a t-shirt, a glass, tour passes, a beer opener and lanyard. On November 28th, Steam Whistle UNSIGNED, Canada’s independent music showcase, is celebrating its 30th show in Toronto and bringing to stage independent artists Tasha the Amazon, Brenden Philip and Joseph of Mercury in support of The Artists Health Alliance.
Fueled by the soul of each city pocket and refined by the flavours of each street, Steam Whistle’s UNSIGNED concert series has become notorious for brewing up some of Toronto’s most diverse new talent to brace the soundwaves and this night will be no different. Become invigorated by the unapologetic, tribal rhythms of Toronto’s Tasha The Amazon, float on the soulful funk and R&B of Brendan Philip, and get lost in the powerful presence of Joseph of Mercury – who could possibly be the musical love child of Chris Issac and Morrisey.
“For the last 7 years, UNSIGNED has been able to work with over a hundred different Canadian independent artists,” explains Matt Weed, Steam Whistle Brewing’s Special Events Manager and founder of UNSIGNED. “For our 30th show, we wanted to showcase some of the newest and most exciting sounds Toronto has to offer.”
Now in its eighth year, Steam Whistle UNSIGNED has raised over $75,000 for charity and featured over 100 independent acts. Past artists to take the UNSIGNED stage include The Rural Alberta Advantage, Austra, The Darcys, Young Empires, Rich Aucoin, The Balconies, Woodhands, Dinosaur Bones, Lioness, Parallels, Make Your Exit, Hooded Fang and Kidstreet.
