March 14 2014 – With so much music at bars nowadays, live entertainment can be very hit or miss. Sometimes the vocals are way off, other times you can tell that there’s just no heart and someone’s just in it for the pay cheque. Live bar music can be either enjoyable or painful so it is refreshing when your ears take kindly to what is coming through the PA speakers.
For being a newer addition to the Toronto pub music scene, Charlie McKittrick brings incredible entertainment value every time we have seen him play. McKittrick calls his solo acoustic show “The C-MACK Effect” and it is safe to say that his performances are resonating very well. Having played all over town already, including places like The Pour House, Pogue Mahone’s, Murphy’s Law, McGugan’s Pub and more, it’s no surprise that the calls keep coming in for Mr. McKittrick. This talented musician has an impressive catalogue of new and old, far ranging songs that include hits from The Beatles, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Supertramp, Bob Marley, Neil Young, Brian Adams, Oasis, The Tragically Hip, Foo Fighters, U2, Sublime and much, much more.
Not only does McKittrick rock the pubs, but he is also a drummer and vocalist in TimeGiant, and has played with other bands such as Organic Funk, Henry Taylor Band and MicLordz & Sauce Funky. If you are a newcomer to T-Mak World let me tell you TimeGiant is our absolute hands on favorite to continue to elevate the Toronto Rock crown alongside bands like Triumph, Saga, Max Webster, and Rush. McKittrick has also started to incorporate acoustic versions of TimeGiant hard rockers in his show and is a must for TimeGiant fans in Toronto. McKittrick is a native of Hamilton but now calls Toronto his home and has a University degree in Music.
You can bear witness to “The C-MACK Effect” for yourself on St. Patrick’s Day at The Pour House (St. George/Dupont) or at any one of these upcoming shows:
