May 2, 2013 – UK’s The Stranglers will be in town on May 31st to play the Danforth Music Hall as part of their upcoming world tour promoting their new album “Giants” which will be released on May 28th.
The Stranglers are one of the last true survivors of British bands to emerge from the late 70’s punk scene. Four decades, 17 albums, and 24 Top 40 hit singles later, the four-piece originally from Guildford, are making a welcomed return to North America for the first time in 20 years. Hit singles such as Golden Brown, Peaches, No More Heroes, Skin Deep, and Strange Little Girl, have secured the band a firm place in the rock and roll history books. Regularly hitting the headlines with an instinctive nose for controversy and confrontation – they have created original, dynamic, and bass driven melodies that have influenced so many bands to this day.
With the forthcoming release of ‘Giants’, their single ‘Mercury Rising’ out now, and a North American tour scheduled – fans and newcomers have the chance to experience and enjoy brand new material that remains true to that classic Stranglers sound.
