May 10 2013 – We at T-Mak World support local Indie rock as much as possible and regular readers of our site will be familiar with the many features we have that put a spotlight on emerging artists. We simply do it for the love of music, and we get very happy when we see the corporations support Indie music to a great level. One of the biggest supporters has been Steam Whistle (and we love their beer by the way) with their UNSIGNED concert series. We recently got the following press release:
Steam Whistle is an active supporter of independent Canadian musicians and the craft brewery’s UNSIGNED concert series is now in its sixth year running. On May 24th, Steam Whistle will host Unsigned #25, celebrating Canadian indie music. Theshow will be hosted in the Toronto Brewery’s Beer Hall and will feature local acts Beliefs, The C’Mons and Hussy. Doors open at 8pm and admission is only $5 at the door with all proceeds from ticket sales going back to the community through the Artists Health Alliance.
“The Unsigned series started in Toronto at Steam Whistle Brewery and it’s amazing to see the series expand to Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver,” says Matt Weed, Unsigned series coordinator. “Our goal was always to give back and help the growth of Canada’s indie music scene.”
About the Bands
Beliefs
The upcoming self-titled debut album, “Beliefs“, took shape naturally by creating groups of songs between three different studios over the course of a year. Led by Korody on production, players were added both live and on the album including Noel Webb and Ben Reinhartz on drums, as well as Kyle Connolly and Richard Stanley on guitar. Already deep into creating their follow up softmore album, Beliefs’ have already released a two-song “Untitled” single (digital and cassette tape format) November 6th 2012 via Toronto design imprint / boutique label Hand Drawn Dracula and UK’s No Pain In Pop and their “Self-Titled” debut full length March 5th 2013 via Hand Drawn Dracula (CAN), Manimal (USA), and No Pain In Pop (UK/EU).

The C’Mons
Developing and perfecting something with great care takes a certain kind of patience and desire. When it comes to the art of crafting music that cuts deep, it takes a certain combination of a certain kind of people to dream up sounds and ideas that are in their own way something special. As if overnight, 5 complete strangers ended up at the right place at the right time and set the mold for a new sound as the C’mons. The perfect combination of completely different people as an alt-rock band from Toronto, ON. Anyone who has ever seen them perform live can tell you: a C’mons show is for the folks who like to stomp their feet, clap their hands and dance their asses off. With an interesting mesh of personalities and style, these guys aim to please… and surely deliver.

Hussy
A Toronto local favourites who describe their sound loud, blood thinning, temper temper, sludge, crash.
