April 22 2013 – From the Sunday Special to the World Wide Web, comic strips are often one’s first exposure to the world of comics. With this in mind and to help celebrate their 10th Anniversary, Toronto Comic Arts Festival is excited to announce “The Toronto Strip Show,” featuring original thematically-linked comic strips from dozens of comic artists exhibiting at the 2013 Toronto Comic Arts Festival.
Please join us between 7pm-11pm on Wednesday, May 1st 2013 at Steam Whistle Brewing (255 Bremner Blvd) for the opening of this exciting gallery show and fundraiser auction. All pieces on display will be available for purchase during the silent auction. The Toronto Comic Arts Festival exists to showcase the breadth and diversity of the medium and this event will be no exception. For more information, please visit www.torontocomics.com.

About Steam Whistle Gallery:
Steam Whistle Brewing hosts monthly art exhibitions in their Gallery to showcase local creative talent. Although many exhibitors are established artists, some are showing for the first time. Steam Whistle does not charge rent for their gallery space, nor is a commission earned on any works that are sold. At the close of each show, one piece from the show (of the artist’s choice) is donated to their permanent collection bringing further profile to artists through the thousands of visitors to the brewery annually.
