Michael White at Toronto’s Sound Academy performing part 1 of The Song Remains The Same |
October 14 2012 – Another month, another instalment of the Led Zeppelin Discography series from Michael White and his band The White. We borrow text from one of our previous articles because the story does indeed remain the same.
Tonight’s performance continues the trend of the band delivering a top notch Led Zeppelin experience. The over 1000 people in attendance were really in a groove tonight and the very strong set list of Zep classics made sure that heads were bobbing all night long. A particularly stong No Quarter set the tone for the night and grabbed the attendees in a hypnotic trance reminiscent of Zeppelin circa 1973 (which is when the concert was recorded for the record/movie of the same name). The magic of tonight’s set list was the lengthy songs. No 3 minute pop hits here kiddies – we were treated to lengthy offerings such as Whole Lotta Love, Moby Dick and Stairway to Heaven. Ring leader Michael White was in a particularly jovial mood tonight and his interaction with the audience throughout the night ensured there was a long line of people waiting to shake his hand and get a pic of White after the show.
Verdict: Our usual verdict remains – on any given night going to see Michael White and The White is a solid choice in Toronto and you will not be disappointed – regardless of whether you are a Zeppelin fan or not.
