Little Foot Long Foot |
October 21, 2012 – Little Foot Long Foot played the Bovine Sex Club on Friday, October 19th. LFLF is one of our favourite local indie bands and as such has been covered here many times. In fact, their last show was just three weeks ago when they opened for White Cowbell Oklahoma at Lee’s Palace. See our review of that show here and pictures here.

Since frontwoman Joan Smith is joining White Cowbell Oklahoma as their third guitarist on their upcoming European tour, this was probably the last chance to catch the band in their natural habitat, so to speak, of the Bovine, this year.

There wasn’t a lot especially unique about this show to set it apart from other LFLF shows. This was new organist Jeff Heisholt’s second local show and the band was as tight as ever, drummer Klein’s drums as thunderous as ever and Smith’s vocals and energetic performance was as powerful as ever. Perhaps the only unique aspect of the show was they played a very rare cover of Walk All Over You and Smith had the male hearts a-flutter with the sexually charged lyrics. The Bon Scott-era AC/DC song fit right into the heavy groove that is a Little Foot Long Foot show.
“You’re lookin’ so good under me… I’m gonna walk all over you…” |
It was LFLF manager Todd Keast’s birthday and that was as good a reason as any to celebrate with a Little Foot Long Foot gig at the Bovine. Happy Birthday Todd!
