We are a society of haves and have-nots. Having the right last name, going to the right schools, making the right connections are the gilded social pillars where trust funds and legacies at storied Ivy League institutions become the birth rites of the old money set. Mary (Selma Blair) and Mark Hughes (Joshua Close) have that life and the have-nots, the Sakowskys will do anything to take it in the psychological home invasion thriller, In Their Skin.
Into every life a little sorrow must come. And for The Hughes that sorrow came in the recent death of their daughter Tess. With the family in tatters, Mary, Mark and their young son Brendan (Quinn Lord) retreat to the comforts of their family cottage where the chill in the air is only eclipsed by the chill between this troubled couple. Enter the interlopers, Bobby (James D’Arcy) and Jane (Rachel Miner) Sakowsky with their son Jared (Alex Farris) trying too hard to blend in with cottage set as they bulldoze their way into our sullen families life with shape shifting stories that only ring hollow as their false praise and preening adulation eventually turns deadly.
In Their Skin is more cat and mouse than an indictment on class. The prize, which couple can decode the other first. The Sakowskys for security and the Hughes for survival.
