After a ten year break, Big Sugar ended the drought for their fans and released “Revolution Per Minute” in June. Now, their cross-country tour finds them hitting up some of their favourite stomping grounds – and supporting their newest effort – ELIMINATE YA! LIVE! EYL is a double disc CD/DVD of their 2011 sold out performance in Winnipeg’s Burton Cummings Theatre and it is the first ever concert film released by the band.
The tour will feature special appearances by reggae legend Willi Williams who is the writer and singer of “Armagideon Time,” the reggae anthem covered by numerous artists, including The Clash as the b-side to the single for “London Calling.” Front-man Gordie Johnson says it was natural that Williams should join the band on its upcoming tour. “Reggae has always been an important component to our sound and Willi has been a big influence.”
