360 Screenings – Immerse Yourself in a Living Film |
Up until now the worlds of cinema and performance art were just that, cinema and performance art. 360 Screenings breaks down these antiquated paradigms by melding performance art with the films screening and thus heightening the experiences into a living film. Artistic Producer and Co-Founder of 360 Screenings, Ned Loach has created this unique artistic hybrid for Toronto cinefiles and theatre goers looking to tap into a new experience in Toronto’s constantly evolving art scene.
With historical Toronto heritage venues as the back drop, attendees literally walk into a furnished environment reflecting the elements of an unknown film shortly before experiencing a performance piece to wet ones appetite. The interactive qualities of this experience allows one to explore, uncover and question everything they see before them, because the guests are the most important part in bringing this experience to life.
Ned Loach and the 360 Screenings series is more than just a unique interactive film experience. The grass roots nature that draws audiences in the hundreds into neighbourhood venues tied to local partners is reinventing new artistic avenues while creating a better sense of communities. In keeping with the element of surprise the venue and film are kept hidden until 24 hours prior to the event which keeps the audience guessing until the very last moment. Given that Toronto’s landscape is dotted with a myriad of filmfest and storied theatre houses, 360 Screenings stands alone in this niche art experience that is a fast becoming Toronto’s hottest ticket.
360 Screenings launched its groundbreaking screening series on May 25th, 2012, where GHOST was brought to life at the historic Burroughes Building located at Queen Street West and Bathurst Street.
360 Screenings is proud to present its second immersive cinema event on Wednesday August 15th, 2012 at 7pm.
