Toronto After Dark Summer Screening Lineup for 2012 |
June 20 2012 – Last year we hit the excellent Toronto After Dark Film Festival (TAD) for the first time. We are lovers of genre films (horror, sci-fi, dark comedies, etc) and as such we LOVED this festival and strongly endorse it to our readers. Our recap article from last year ended with “the festival experience at TAD is absolutely mind-blowingly awesome”. The cool gang at TAD decided to give everyone a sample of what to expect during this year’s festival (October 18-26) with a pair of Summer Screening Nights (June 27 and July 11) at The Bloor Cinema. If you love horror, sci-fi or genre movies make it out there and get full info about the screenings here.

A one-of-kind dark sci-fi horror comedy, about a group of high-schoolers led by Josh Hutcherson (THE HUNGER GAMES), that have to stop a serial killer loose on their campus with some help from time travel. In this terrifying spectacular that was a huge hit at this year’s Sundance and SXSW Film Festivals, a group of thieves break into a house and end up watching five different found VHS tapes, each one scarier than the last! The combined talent of the filmmakers who teamed up on V/H/S includes, Ti West (THE INNKEEPERS), Adam Wingard (A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE), Joe Swanberg (SILVER BULLETS), Glenn McQuaid (I SELL THE DEAD), David Bruckner (THE SIGNAL) and the directing quartet known as Radio Silence, will both terrify and delight you!
