Let me start off by clearly stating that this is not a comedy. It is a very powerful drama with some Seth Rogan one liners in there to lighten up the mood. This is not Superbad and there are no fart jokes nor McLovin’s in this one. The devastating topic of a 27 year old being diagnosed with a spinal cancer is some pretty heavy stuff and the movie can be depressing at it’s bleakest. I heard crying in the audience in some moments and people really did feel the pain that Adam was going through. Adam was a uniquely likeable character and Gordon-Levitt’s performance was exceptional. You couldn’t help but feel his pain and share his joys. Seth Rogan played Seth Rogan as expected and he delivered the funny lines that make him who he is. Anna Kendrick’s character was very similar to George Clooney’s sidekick in Up In The Air and felt she was not the best choice for the therapist role. Aside from that minor complaint I really enjoyed this movie.
