T-Mak World – Toronto’s Site for Music, Movies, Culture
T-Mak World is the brainchild of Terry Makedon who thought it might be fun to review some of the things he loves and started doing so in May 2010. One thing led to another and this website now features a variety of contributors who share common interests.
We focus on Rock Music and provide concert reviews, interviews and CD reviews. Classic Rock is our specialty and passion. We review all types of movies but Horror and Genre films are what we dig the most.
Do you share our passion for music, movies, technology and cool events around town? If so, we would love to hear your opinions and thoughts. Email us if you have a review of your own you would like to share on our site and be part of the team.
If you have some cool technology, a game, a DVD, a CD, or an upcoming music event that you would like us to review and help promote, get in touch. Anything and everything is cool! We are based in Toronto, Canada but occasionally cover events across the world.
Enjoy the ride!
Terry Makedon – Editor In Chief
I have been working in tech since ’94, with most of those years spent at tech giants ATI and AMD in charge of software product management (i.e the Catalyst suite) and marketing the software with over 300 million downloads. This site focuses on my passions which include music, movies, gaming, and technology. I am not a music or film critic, but a critical fan of good music and movies and all my reviews are merely my opinion. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are what define me and my tastes best.
The rest of my crew in alphabetical order are:
Tyrone Buccione – Music Editor
I am a musician in a Juno-nominated Canadian hard rock band called Diemonds. My experiences have taken me through some highs and lows of the business side of the music industry and the couches and floors of strangers on the road. I love Pink Floyd, Queen, Yes, Genesis, Led Zeppelin and enjoy writing about anything related to rock and or roll.
John Dash – Movie Critic
I exercise my cinematic exploits through accredited film previews, reviews and actor interviews on theatrical releases as well as the film festival circuit; namely TIFF, Toronto After Dark, Hot Docs, Human Rights Watch and Rendezvous With Madness to name a few. As a former member of ACTRA and The Black Film and Video Network, movies are a passion that I will gladly share.

Karen Makedon – Cultural Editor
I am passionate about rock music, travel, digital photography and foreign films. I am active in TIFF and a member of the CNEA. You will find me blogging about city’s hottest shows, launches, and events. Contact me to cover your next event.
Steve Mallinson – Senior Editor and Photographer
I am veteran of the electronics industry in Toronto and spent 9 years at AMD. As a guitar enthusiast, my tastes in music were defined by Page, Clapton and Hendrix. I am also a fan of The Who, Pink Floyd and far too many others to mention. But man cannot live by music alone, I am also a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Formula 1 racing.
John Perfetto – Music and Automotive Editor
I enjoy various types of music, from prog-rock to the heaviest of metal. Live shows get me going whether they are cover bands or the real thing. I’m an avid photographer and admirer of cars, and enjoy seeking out classic cars and super-cars of today. There is nothing better than the sound of an exhaust at 6500 RPMs with Zeppelin screaming out of the speakers!
Stephen Ruxton – East Canada Music Editor
In the 80’s I used to work as a live audio technician touring the Maritime provinces with local rock bands. I love the classic bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Queen and Rush. My background includes writing computer hardware reviews for popular websites Kit Guru and Hardware Heaven. I am a recovering video game addict that can no longer keep up with the constant changes in hardware needed to run today’s new releases. I love attending live concerts and I do what I can to support and promote the local live rock music scene in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia.
