October 25, 2013 – Floyd Factor has been reviewed a couple of times on T-Mak World. On this night I was told to get ready to see and hear something special and my expectations were set pretty high for this band. I am going to be let known right now, this show is getting a 5 out of 5. This band of accomplished musicians is a must see for any Pink Floyd fan.
At approximately 11:30pm a magical experience was starting. Floyd Factor took to the stage at the Rockpile East and began playing a set of Pink Floyd’s music
The night started with the best of Pink Floyd’s second concept album, Wish You Were Here. The band started with Shine On You Crazy Diamond, followed that up with Have a Cigar, and then Wish You Were Here. All three songs were performed to perfection!
Floyd Factor then moved forward to Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album, The Wall. Although this album was released in 1979, the songs still sound fresh and Floyd Factor played the most popular songs of the album flawlessly! They started off with The Happiest Days of Our Lives, moved on to Another Brick in the Wall, and then Mother.
They then moved on to Pink Floyd’s eighth studio album, and one of my personal all-time favourites: Dark Side of the Moon. There is a reason why this album remained on the Billboard album chart for 741 weeks, and Floyd Factor was completely able to capture its psychedelic feel. They played the entire album, each song note for note, the way only accomplished musicians could.
The night came to an end with Comfortably Numb, and a wonderful encore from The Final Cut, Not Now John.
Again, if you are a Pink Floyd fan and you want to experience a great night with a band who can bring you to that Great Gig In The Sky, Floyd Factor is it.
Verdict 5 out of 5. Floyd Factor is a comprehensive and authentic Pink Floyd tribute band!
