David Wilcox at Richmond Hill March 2013 |
March 29 2013 – David Wilcox one of Canada’s longest performing Rock and Blues performers rolled into Richmond Hill for a night of music. The 63 year old Wilcox was in top form and is always the case with his shows, full of smiles and light hearted jokes in between songs and even verses. His first album Out Of The Woods was released in 1977 and had three hits on it. All three of those songs were major highlights of the night as Do The Bearcat had people dancing in the aisles, and Bad Apple and That Hypnotizin’ Boogie received some of the loudest applause for the night. For many his songs were an ode to their University pub days as part of an essential Canadian rite of passage.

The first part of the set featured Wilcox sitting down and performing a few songs solo. He was then joined on stage with a bassist and a drummer. Wilcox looked very energized and the smile never left his face tonight at the sold out performance. Truly a fun night Wilcox’s show comes highly recommended for fans of the Blues and good ole drinking songs.

The Richmond Hill Center For The Performing Arts was a very fine venue for the show and we leave you with some photos from the night.
